David Thorson

David has over 30 years working in finance, operations, marketing, and sales, across Financial Services, Manufacturing, High Tech, and Non-Profit/Hospitality industries. His experience also includes start-ups, closely held businesses, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, and corporate strategy. David has strong leadership and team building skills.

Before FocusCFO

Prior to joining FocusCFO, David served in several senior management roles in start-up, early stage and large companies. Most recently he was the West Region Operations Director for the USO, a non-profit supporting military members and their families overseeing 30+ locations across nine western states spanning from Arizona to Alaska. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Nevada Trust Company, and as a trustee on the Las Vegas Rotary Foundation Board.

He received his MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, Spain (in Spanish), A Master in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, AZ and his BS in Finance/Business Economics from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ.

    • What is your favorite way to spend free time?  I play water polo competitively and love to ski.
    • What is at the top of your "bucket list"?  I want to ski every Olympic downhill ski run in the world. Two down, a whole bunch to go...
    • What was your favorite vacation?  Nothing beats a bareboat sailboat charter, harnessing the Tradewinds in the Caribbean.
